Scots Big Brother star 'went on chauffeur-driven shopping spree around London then failed to pay bill'

A Big Brother star is being pursued for cash over claims he went on a chauffeur-driven shopping spree around London then failed to pay the bill.

Instagram celebrity Sam Brodie racked up a £4000 bill after hiring an luxury limo to be taken around shops and hotels in the English capital. The five-star spree saw him eating in Mayfair, shopping in Harrods and Selfridges and staying at a posh hotel.

Sources say Brodie, now thought to be living in West Kilbride, Ayrshire, ordered an S Class Mercedes and chauffeur for two days last December. He also requested two bodyguards to shadow him on the trip.

Sam, 36 – who appeared on Big Brother 7 in 2006 as a woman but has since returned to a male identity, – is being pursued in the courts.

A source claimed: “He contacted the firm, asking for a chauffeur, a top of the range car and a bodyguard.

“He said he was an actor and had been on Big Brother, claiming he was a member of the Indonesian Royal Family and went by the name Sir Sammy. He said he had homes in Chelsea and Kensington but that he wanted to spend the night in a hotel.

“He paid a four-figure deposit to the firm so they believed he was genuine. But after splurging a fortune all across the city and heading back to Scotland, he failed to settle the bill and now the company has gone after him.”

The firm is pursuing Brodie in the English and Scottish courts over the bill.

Our source added: “A County Court Judgment has been applied for in the English courts, as they try to get their £4000 back.

“They have also raised an action in the Scottish courts which will proceed at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

“He went out and scattered money all over Mayfair, living the most lavish few days, then failing to pay what he owed. It’s disgusting.

“One of the bodyguards he had was an ex-Army officer, who shadowed him, making sure everything was safe for him as he was apparently an extremely important royal.

“A weekend of extravagance that he didn’t pay properly for.

“Letters were sent to the address he gave in Scotland but were ignored even though they were signed for.

“Going down the court route was the last thing the company wanted to do but he didn’t leave them with much choice.

“Court papers for the Kilmarnock case were served on him last week.”

The door of Brodie’s flat and his mobile phone went unanswered when the Record tried to contact him.

Tom Richmond, managing director of Security and Safety Solutions which provided the limo and bodyguards, said: “We have initiated court proceedings to recover the debt. It would be inappropriate to comment further.”
