Scots BGT contestant offers to perform audition song at Simon Cowell's wedding

Scots BGT contestant Ferdinand Rennie has offered to perform his high energy dance version of Never Enough at Simon Cowell's wedding after his online audition had over 200,000 hits.

Ferdinand, from Dunoon, appeared on the show as it returned to ITV screens on Saturday night where viewers saw his rousing rendition of the Greatest Showman classic, but unfortunately he didn't make it to the next stage.

The 62-year-old singer said he has loved the feedback he's received since appearing and said he had a ball during his telly experience.

Ferdinand, who is married to designer Brian Rennie, told the Daily Record: "I would love to sing at Simon Cowell’s forthcoming wedding because I think I’d get the party started and manage to get him and his fiancée moving.

"I have sung all around the world, for Eurovision, and even for royalty including the Prince and Princess of Monaco, but I’ve never had the chance to sing for the Queen.

"That’s why I entered as I would love to have that opportunity. I loved going on the show. It was fun meeting Simon, Amanda, Alesha and David.

"Amanda told me she wanted the jeans I wore for my audition which my husband Brian designed. He has his own business at fasbscots.com and has designed pieces for lots of Hollywood A-listers."

He added: "It was definitely the biggest audience I have ever performed in front of, but some of my YouTube videos have reached millions of people too.

"To be remembered as one of the Greatest Showman performances from this series of Britain’s Got Talent is great."

Ferdinand reckons his phone has been red hot since the audition, with many feeling it was unfair he was pitted against the original Greatest Showman singer Loren Alred, who got a golden buzzer despite her Hollywood credentials.

He said: "I have already started receiving requests since my audition was aired and am planning to perform at Glasgow's Pride in July at Strathclyde University. People on Twitter have also reached out to tell me they loved the high energy feel of the song I sang for my audition.

"I recently recorded an original song called Chase the Sun with Grammy-award winning producer Mikal Blue which can be streamed online."

Ferdinand also revealed he never got to meet Loren despite it seeming like they were there on the same day.

He revealed: "We never actually got to meet on the day we auditioned because we auditioned on different days, but she is amazing. I feel like I was the warmup man for her, and I am really privileged that I had the opportunity to do that."

And he said of Simon's snub: "Simon told me he liked my personality, but he wasn’t impressed by my version of the song.

"He was typical Simon, but David and Amanda made up for it by dancing away and David even now follows me on social media.

"We never got a chance to sound check like I would normally at a gig, but the audience got up on their feet and I got the whole place moving so I think I managed to entertain which is always important. I loved the crowd. The atmosphere was electric."
