An Aldi manager's insider shopping tips
1. The best day to scoop Aldi Specialbuys
While we all know that Aldi can help us bring down the cost of our shopping trip, it's the weekly Specialbuys that has us speed walking to the middle aisle - only to be disappointed when they've sold out.
Considering Aldi's infamous middle aisle section follows a 'when it's gone, it's gone' policy, it is worth flocking to your local store as soon as you hear about the latest product to avoid missing out. Popular items aren't guaranteed to come back.
To make sure you don't miss out on the latest coveted product, it is best to rush to stores as soon as they are launched every Thursday and Sunday of the week.
The Scots worker's inside tip comes just after the budget supermarket chain announced it would be phasing out its online Specialbuys this Autumn, which might make them even more difficult to buy.
2. The day Aldi releases new offers on meat
Another way for shoppers to save some pennies at Aldi is to look for "Fresh Weekly Offers" every Thursday on its range of meat and fish which allows you to snap up the best fresh produce deals.
3. When products are marked down
Shoppers can find 30%, 50% or 75% discount stockers on certain products at various points throughout the day as they approach their 'use by' or 'best before' dates.
Cupboard staples such as pasta, rice, tinned goods and cereal are also reduced by 30% if the packaging is imperfect.
4. The colour of discount stickers
The supermarket chain tends to use red discounted labels, instead of the usual yellow stickers you notice in other supermarkets, so it is worth keeping an eye out for them during your next trip.
5. The times Aldi shops are quietest
Prefer a quieter shopping experience? Thomas says the best day to shop is Tuesday, particularly before 10am and after 6pm.
6. Every Aldi supermarket has the same hours
Every store is open until 10pm each night, Monday to Saturday and open until 8pm on Sundays, so shoppers can figure out when to pop into an Aldi wherever they are.
