ScotRail has issued a warning to passengers ahead of strike action on Saturday October 29.
A new wave of strikes are set to bring trains to a halt on Saturday as ScotRail staff in The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) are staging a walkout. Rugby fans headings to Murrayfield for the Scotland V Australia match have been warned against travelling by train and urged to take other modes of transport.
ScotRail warned: "There will be a very limited service for rugby fans heading to Scotland’s first autumn international match against Australia. Fans travelling to Scotland’s match at BT Murrayfield against Australia advised to consider alternative travel arrangements."

This comes following a dispute over pay and working condition as union members announced there would be an overtime ban which has led to delays and some cancellations.
In an email to customers, ScotRail said to expect 'significant disruption' and added: "The RMT trade union has announced that its general grades members at ScotRail will take part in 24-hour strike action on Saturday, October 29.
"It’s the second day of strike action by ScotRail general grades RMT members, following industrial action on Monday, October 10, and is a result of the trade union’s rejection of an improved pay offer made by ScotRail."
Services are operating between the hours of 7.30am and 6.30pm. The only train that is running to and from Edinburgh is Milngavie - Edinburgh via Glasgow Queen Street Low Level (half hourly service).
Other services include;
- Glasgow Central – Lanark (hourly service)
- Glasgow Central – Larkhall (hourly service)
Customers can use their ticket the day before, or up to three days after, Tuesday November 1. If you have already purchased your rail ticket, you can seek a refund with no additional admin fee.
There will also be further disruption on November, 3, Saturday 5, and Monday 7, when Network Rail RMT trade union members take part in 24-hour strike action. While ScotRail staff aren't taking part in this strike, there will be a severe knock-on-effect.
