With the clocks having sprung forward and nicer weather finally beginning to set in, some university and college students might want to see a bit more of the country.
And in a new offer, students are now able to purchase half-price ScotRail tickets when travelling outside of peak hours. The discount deal, which launched on Monday, March 27, will last until Sunday, April 30 and will be available from any station with a manned ticket office.
To receive the 50 percent price slash students will first need to show ScotRail staff valid student photo ID. If there is no ticket office at a station, discounted trips can be purchased on the train.
The offer is available on all Off-Peak tickets, except Super Off-Peak Day Return tickets. Customers who buy Off-Peak returns also have up to one month to use the return portion of their ticket – up to Monday, May 29 2023 for tickets purchased on April 30.
Claire Dickie, ScotRail Head of Retail, said: "We're delighted to pass on savings to students in Scotland once again, with the return of our half-price offer this Spring.
"With the longer days returning, it's the perfect time to explore Scotland or take a well-earned break from studies and head into town with friends.
"Our half-price ticket offer will help students make the most of Spring and Easter."
It comes after the national rail service launched an offer which would see golfers receive a 20 percent discount when travelling to selected courses.
There are 20 golf courses where players can access the discount so long as they have a valid rail ticket for that day's travel or a Club 50 card.
