Train passengers are facing travel chaos on Scotrail routes today due to major flooding on several lines.
Heavy downpour has lead to several closures across major routes within the central belt. All services on the North Clyde route, which connects Glasgow to the West of Scotland, have been cancelled.
The rail operator, is, however, attempting to keep services running East and South of the North Clyde route running where possible. The chaos will further affect services running via Glasgow Central low level and Queen Street low level.
In the meantime, an emergency timetable has been brought. Rail chiefs are working to arrange replacement buses, but none have been confirmed so far.
Images from the North Clyde line at Bowling in West Dunbartonshire shows the tracks swamped from inches of heavy rainfall overnight. All services between Dalmuir, Helensburgh and Balloch have been axed until the water is cleared.
A statement from Network Rail reads: "The heavy rain experienced overnight means we need to limit train speeds in many areas of Scotland for everyone's safety. You can get the latest info on your journey at http://nationalrail.co.uk."
