Scotland's new laws and rules in February 2022 that will impact everyone

New Scottish laws are coming into force this month affecting the way people in Scotland drive and protect their homes from fire.

The smoke alarm law in Scotland became official on February 1, just days after the sweeping new set of Highway Code changes commenced on January 29.

New legislation by the Scottish Government now legally requires homeowners to install interlinked smoke alarms.
