LEE JONES will take part in his fourth Commonwealth Games while Lisa Thomson and Helen Nelson will co-captain the Scotland women’s Sevens team in their first appearance at the event.
Former Glasgow and Edinburgh winger Jones, who won eight full Scotland caps, is joined by captain Jamie Farndale in the squad.
“To get selected for the Commonwealth Games is such an honour and it’s hard to believe this will be my fourth,” Jones said.
“This is a really talented group and one which I hope to play a small part in the success of in Birmingham.”
Also included are Alec Coombes, Robbie Fergusson and Ross McCann, who all represented Great Britain at the Olympics last year.
Thomson, who has 45 full Scotland caps, said: “As a team, we want to inspire the next generation of rugby players and to have the chance to compete on the global stage gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase our sport.”
