Owners of a popular Glasgow cafe have shared their joy it was crowned Scotland's best sandwich shop.
Around 150 representatives of the best takeaways in Scotland gathered at the city's Marriott Hotel on Monday for the annual Scottish Takeaway Awards.
A number of the awards were split into local regions 'to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Scotland are recognised for providing unique dishes, creating a true gastronomic paradise.'

The awards 'provide a great opportunity to showcase those who performed well over the past year and are considered the best choice by the public.'
And last night, the owners of husband-and-wife-run Bite Me Sandwich Bar took to social media to share their exciting news. The cafe, based on Paisley Road West, landed the prestigious title of Sandwich Shop of the Year, beating competition from across the country.
They commented on Instagram: "We only went and got and Scottish Sandwich Shop of the Year ☺️ Huge thank you to our customers and staff! Thank you so much!"
A small independent sandwich shop 'that offers delicious food', Bite Me first opened in 2004 and has since gone on to develop a loyal customer base in Cessnock and the surrounding area.
On their mouthwatering menu you'll find the likes of baguettes, paninis, ciabattas and toastie, with fillings ranging from prawn mayo to chicken tikka and honey roast ham.
Fans of the food spot shared their congratulations at the news of their award, with one person commenting: "Fantastic! Totally well deserved!!" and another adding: "Go Bite Me!"
The event organisers said following the announcement of the winners: "Takeaways have been around for so long and are an integral part of our high streets and culture. There is no doubt that it is a fast-growing sector and will continue to shake up Scotland’s economy as more and more food entrepreneurs chose to provide food on the go and delivery services.
"The awards also celebrated top establishments that strive to be different. They commended those who deliver great food to their customers in a timely manner, making it easier to enjoy their delicious meal from the comfort of their homes."
A Spokesperson for the Scottish Takeaway Awards said: “Although in our second year, we are honoured by the fantastic response we have had from the public who was so keen to vote for their favourite takeaways.
“This industry has grown massively over the past years and we aimed to seek out, reward and thank those who have managed to make a real difference by serving fantastic food, using the best of ingredients.
“The winners are an outstanding example of excellence whose dedication to be the best has made them stand out among the rest.
“We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
