Scotland Food & Drink has announced that its chief executive James Withers will step down after nearly 11 years in the post.
He will remain with the organisation until the end of August to support the search for his successor and to work with deputy chief executive John Davidson to manage a successful transition.
The industry body's chair Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne said: “When James joined us in 2011, Scotland Food & Drink was still in its infancy and the industry wasn’t always spoken of as a Scottish success story.
