With the rise in popularity of glamping – that's camping with a touch of extra luxury – people are looking forward to booking their holidays this summer.
From wigwams to treehouses, and even renovated buses, it seems we are now veering towards these quirky stays more and more.
Glamping has taken the UK by storm and, over the past four years, has accelerated in popularity, by 56% to be exact from Summer 2017 to Summer 2021, according to Google searches from the months June to October.
But staying in these updated and upgraded camping sites can often come with added cost.
With the cost of living crisis firmly in mind, the founder of outdoor holiday booking company, Pitchup , Dan Yates has analysed the average price of glamping holidays and their locations, to reveal the most affordable regions across the UK for your next stylish staycation.
And unsurprisingly, Scotland dominates the top 15, for the most affordable places in the UK for a cheap, but luxurious glamping break.
Indeed, six of the final list are all in Scotland.
Caithness and Stirlingshire come in third and fourth place for the most affordable glamping locations in the UK.
A night of glamping in Caithness costs just £60 on average, and a night glamping in Stirlingshire is £60.98.
Often referred to as 'the low lands beyond the Highlands', Caithness is perfect for glamping with plenty of adventures to be had, including coastal walks, caves, castles and gardens.
Similarly with Stirlingshire if you’re fancying a trip to the top to see the beautiful views Scotland has to offer.
Other Scottish locations on the list are the Lothians, the Hebrides, Berwickshire and Argyll.
