SHANE BURGER praised his Scotland players for learning lessons as they bounced back from Saturday’s defeat by the United States to beat the same opponents 24 hours later.
Scotland lost their ICC Men’s World Cup League 2 opener in Pearland, Texas by 104 runs, but they recovered to win at the same venue by 111 runs on Sunday.
Coach Burger was thrilled with the improvements they made.
“It was good to see that we learnt a lot from the first game,” he told Cricket Scotland. “Winning the toss is key in these conditions.
“From a bowling and fielding perspective, we were a lot better than Saturday and adapted to the conditions much quicker.
“Our spinners were excellent and we controlled the game. Chris Sole was superb picking up three wickets and Safyaan Sharif got us two crucial wickets bowling into the wind in his second spell.
“Congratulations must go to Chris Greaves for his first ODI wicket and to Dylan Budge for his run out which was a huge moment and a game-changer.”
Scotland continue their ICC CWCL2 series when they face the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
