As summer is fast approaching, taps aff weather is (hopefully) on the horizon.
We know that in our country, when the mercury goes over the 20c mark, us Scots need to cool down.
In the days gone by, scores of Glaswegians made their way to seaside towns such as Troon to enjoy a dip in an outside lido.

Thankfully, one of them still exists in Gourock, opening each summer to give locals and city folk from Glasgow the chance to have a splash around, without fear of dipping their toes in to the cold west coast sea.
But for those looking for a bit more privacy, you can rent out a stunning manor just 10 minutes' drive away - and an hour from Glasgow - which - very unusually for Scotland - has its own private swimming pool.
Situated in the quaint Renfrewshire village of Weymss Bay, Northcliff Manor boasts space for eight guests, a hot tub, sweeping sea views out to Bute - and most importantly, a sizeable outdoor pool transporting guests away from gloomy Scotland to the sizzling continent.
But it's not just about the outside, the period property is filled with character on the inside too, making it the perfect place to coorie in when the temperature cools down.
Unsurprisingly, from the pictures accompanying the listing, guests lucky enough to stay at the manor have given the accommodation rave reviews, with a stellar 4.88 rating.
And understandably, given the inconsistencies of Scottish weather, the pool is only in use on seasonal basis, from June to September, with all those dates for 2022 fully booked up.
However, according the calendar, if you wanted to plan in advance, you could land yourself a poolside spot for next year.
When we checked on Airbnb, we found a week's stay in this fabulous Weymss Bay property costs £500 a night.
