The Scots owner of a French Bulldog who 'nearly choked to death' after reverse sneezing has issued a stark warning to people with flat-faced dog breeds.
Adele O'Brien feared the worst when her dog Ernie, began 'screaming, whooping and gargling' as he choked on food at their home in Biggar, South Lanarkrshire.
Ernie experienced paroxysmal respiration, or reverse sneezing, when a dog quickly inhales air, rather than exhaling as they would with a normal sneeze.
