Former NBA player and Survivor contestant Scot Pollard recently underwent a life-changing heart transplant, and his road to recovery has been nothing short of inspiring. The surgery, which took place at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center, was successful, with Scot now sporting a new heart that his wife, Dawn, described as 'big, powerful, and a perfect fit.'
Scot, who turned 49 during his hospital stay, has been battling a genetic heart condition that was exacerbated by a virus he contracted in 2021. This condition, which caused his heart to beat an extra 10,000 times per day, led to the need for a transplant. Remarkably, half of Scot's siblings also have this genetic condition, and tragically, his father succumbed to it at the age of 54 when Scot was just 16 years old.
