A SCOTTISH runner has broken the European and British 10km road race records.
Performing in the Great Manchester Run, two-time European medalist Eilish McColgan beat Paula Radcliffe's previous European 10km record with a time of 30.19.
It comes after she broke the British record for the 5km road race, finishing it in 14.48 in Dubai to overtake Radcliffe's previously held record in 2003.

She joined more than 20,000 runners on Sunday for the Great Manchester run who applauded the 22 victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena terror attack before the race.
The commemorations on Sunday include church bells tolling at 10.31pm – the time a bomb was detonated at the Ariana Grande concert on May 22, 2017.
