A man on trial for murdering his ex and putting her body in a sports bag sent fake messages from her phone on the day she died, a trial heard.
Craig Walker, 40, is accused of killing Lauren Wilson, 34, at a flat in Renfrew in May 2021.
It is claimed he struck and stabbed Sainsbury’s worker Lauren with a knife.
Walker is then accused of wrapping the woman in sheets and tape before placing her in a large sports bag with the “intention of disposing of her body”.
He is also said to have sent messages from his former partner’s phone, pretending to be her.
Lauren’s mum told the High Court in Glasgow she received “out of character” text messages from her after she did not pick up her daughter. She found out later that day that her daughter was dead.
The witness stated she had her granddaughter overnight while Lauren had a busy shift at work.
Pauline stated that she found out Lauren had died in the early hours of the morning. The trial continues before Judge Lady Stacey.
