Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall and ISIS bride Lisa Smith become best friends in prison

Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall and ISIS bride Lisa Smith have become prison besties.

Infamous murderer Mulhall and the former Irish soldier have formed a close bond after Smith was jailed for 15 months and sent to Limerick Prison.

Since her conviction for membership of the so-called Islamic State she has “settled in well” on the female wing of the tough jail.

Smith is locked up alongside female assassin Rose Lynch and child killer Karen Harrington but she has adjusted to life behind bars, a source revealed.

They said: “She spends a lot of time on her own praying in her cell but has now started to venture outside of it and mingle with other inmates.

“She probably realises that time will go quicker if she has people to interact with.

“She talks to Charlotte Mulhall a good bit as well as some of the other female inmates on the wing. You would never picture the two of them talking but they seem to get on pretty well. Smith is well liked and is seen as a model prisoner.”

Mum-of-one Smith is the first person to be convicted in an Irish court of membership in another country of an Islamic terrorist organisation. She had been on bail until her conviction at the Special Criminal Court and spent her first nights in lock up at the Dochas Centre in Mountjoy, Dublin.

Smith will be allowed to practise her Islamic religion, which involves praying five times a day. Mulhall, 39, who is serving a life sentence for the grisly murder of Farah Swaleh Noor in 2005, was moved to Limerick from the Dochas Centre in December 2018.

Her sister Linda Mulhall served 15 years for manslaughter and was freed several years ago.

The brutal killing which shocked the nation happened in the apartment of the sister’s mother Kathleen at Richmond Cottage, Ballybough in North Dublin.

While Charlotte stabbed Noor, Linda struck him with a hammer – with the sisters claiming he had tried to rape one of them.

They then chopped up his remains inside the bathroom of their mother’s apartment.

The pair then dumped Noor’s limbs and torso in the Royal Canal before taking his head on the bus to Tallaght in South Dublin, where it was believed to have been hidden in a park before being moved.

Their mother Kathleen was jailed in 2009 for impeding the investigation.
