Tiny plastic particles appear to be accumulating at increasing levels in the brain, according to a new study that sheds light on the consequence of a global increase in their production.
The study, published on Monday in the journal Nature Medicine, reveals that these microplastics, sometimes smaller than the width of a human hair, occur in greater concentrations in postmortem brain samples from 2024 than in those from 2016.
