Deep in the distant reaches of the early cosmos, astronomers using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have stumbled upon an object so unusual it challenges standard astrophysical models.
At first glance, the object looks like an extraordinarily large red star, spanning a region roughly the size of our solar system. But its energy output tells a completely different story: it blazes with 100 billion times more power than any known star can physically produce.
