A schoolgirl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow's West End this afternoon.
The 12-year-old was struck by the motor on Gibson Street, close to Hillhead Primary School, around 1.30pm.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the busy West End Street.
Several police vehicles were in attendance, along with two ambulance crews.
Cops appeared to be interviewing passersby at the scene.
The youngster was taken to Royal Hospital for Children at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Her condition is not yet known.
The road was closed for a period of time while officers carried out enquiries, but it has since reopened.
Police Scotland have launched a probe into the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police received a report of a 12-year-old girl having been struck by a car on Gibson Street in Glasgow around 1.30pm.
“The girl has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the road was re-opened around 2.30pm.”
