Schoolgirl dies in tragic incident after getting into difficulty in River Teith

A schoolgirl has died after getting into difficulty in the River Teith, near Bridge of Allan, in a tragic incident last week.

The 14-year-old got in to difficulty near to Carse of Lecropt Road at around 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 12.

A frantic rescue mission was launched and she was pulled from the water and flown by air ambulance to hospital in Glasgow where she passed away on Saturday, July 16.
