The distraught parents of a teenager killed after being struck by a bus say she was "taken away" from them.
Sophie Jain Fletcher, 15, was hit by the bus in Sheaf Lane, Sheldon, at around 3pm on March 18.
Sophie was rushed to hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead. The bus driver was helping police with their enquiries, reports Birmingham Live.
The tragic youngster's parents have now paid tribute to their "precious daughter".
A joint family statement, released via West Midlands Police, read: "It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that, on March 18, our precious daughter Sophie Jain Fletcher was taken from us. She was a beautiful young girl with an amazing personality and presence to match.
“She will be so greatly missed by all her family, friends whether in or outside of school. Mommy will always hold your hand and you will always be daddy's little princess.
“Fly high our beautiful Sophie Soph. We will love you, forever & always Mommy & Daddy."
Specialist officers are said to be supporting Sophie’s family during this deeply distressing time. West Midlands Police is urging anyone with information about this incident to get in touch with the force.
