A special concert took place in Kirkcudbright on Thursday.
In January, Kate Picken started a community choir that was open to anyone, practicing in The Johnston.
The concert in the parish church featured a primary school choir with pupils from Kirkcudbright, Twynholm, Gatehouse, Crossmichael and Castle Douglas.
There were also solo performances from Kirkcudbright Academy pupils Ben Durham, Inigo Lipton-Chaney, Willow McCarlie Davis and Fraser Dunnett.
Accompany Kate on piano were the academy’s head musical director, Hannah Gill, and Doug Carroll, who often works with them.
The concert was very well attended with £1,200 raised to support local children in need.
