A 15-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a pensioner.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with the murder of Mr David Quigley who died following a burglary in Rock Ferry, Wirral. The 15-year-old was previously charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent in connection with the incident on October 25.
He appeared via video link at Liverpool Crown Court today, February 6, to enter pleas. He also pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary.

The alleged attack happened at a house on Harrogate Road in Rock Ferry, Wirral, on Tuesday, October 25. Police were called to the address at around 11.30pm after receiving reports of a break-in. A man in his 60s was allegedly attacked and suffered a head injury during the incident.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged. But the 69-year-old, David Quigley, was then found dead at his home three weeks later on Tuesday, November 15.
A trial date was confirmed as March 13, and the 15-year-old was remanded in youth detention accommodation until that date.
