Schools across India are expected to follow their regular schedules on Monday, October 26, 2026, unless state governments or district administrations announce local closures. However, parents are checking school holiday updates as a developing cyclonic system over the Bay of Bengal raises weather concerns along the eastern coast, while a separate state-specific holiday is also relevant for students in Uttar Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast adverse weather in parts of southern and eastern India over the coming days, including heavy rainfall and strong winds in areas potentially affected by the developing system. Odisha has already announced the closure of schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres in five districts on October 28 and 29. These closures do not apply to Monday, October 26.
