Scarlett Moffatt to transform County Durham home with help from TikTok star

Scarlett Moffatt has enlisted the help of much sought after interior designer she stumbled across on TikTok to help transform her already stunning County Durham home.

Scarlett and long term boyfriend Scott Dobison moved into the property, not far from her native Bishop Auckland, at the start of 2021, having to sell her first home and move into the new one when strict Covid restrictions were still in place across the UK.

Interest in the couple's home quickly grew on social media, with the house's own Instagram account - Our Bonny Barn - quickly attracting tens of thousands of followers.

After moving in, Scarlett and Scott set about putting their own stamp on the huge property, which also boasts amazing views of the County Durham landscape; with the former I'm A Celebrity winner giving little sister Ava her own room.

Having decided that this will be her and Scott's "forever home," Scarlett started looking for interior inspiration and, it was by chance that she stumbled across designer Rebecca Taylor on popular social media platform TikTok, where Rebecca has well over 100,000 followers and her clips have amassed over 1.9 million likes.

After becoming obsessed with watching her videos, Scarlett then found that, like her, Rebecca was a northern girl and, after the two got talking, Rebecca has had a big role in designing the makeovers of a number of rooms in the 31-year-old's house.

Talking about her home as it is now Scarlett told her followers: "Me and Scott have lived in the house now exactly a year, which is amazing.

"But we always sort of decorated it not for a permanent thing if that makes sense!"

Talking about Rebecca, Scarlett added: "She's an interior designer, she computerises everything; you tell her your budget, what walls you wanted to keep the same, what furniture you wanting to utilise and keep..."

Scarlett explained that Rebecca uses that information to then build designs and a spreadsheet with all the items needed for the transformation.

On her story and on the Our Bonny Barn account, Scarlett shared a number of the transformation designs Rebecca has come up with, which she and Scott can now use to do their makeovers.

Rebecca also shared them on her page, writing: "The house was already beautiful, Scarlett just wanted our help adding the finishing touches to the rooms and pulling it all together."
