Scarlett Moffatt announces first baby's gender in Instagram video

Scarlett Moffatt has announced that she's expecting a baby boy with boyfriend Scott Dobinson in a video on Instagram.

The 32-year-old Gogglebox star, who hails from Bishop Auckland, shared a black and white video on the social networking site where she was carrying a bunch of flowers. The video then turns to colour, revealing all the flowers to be blue.

She then told fans that she and Scott are "over the moon" at the news. Scarlett said: "In the great words of the Beatles… “Here comes the SON." [blue love heart emoji]

She continued: "Picture the scene, me & Scott go to find out if we are having a little boy or girl. We decide we are going to open the envelope at home just the two of us, well we only made it to the first set of traffic lights before we opened it up [laughing crying emoji].

"Lots of happy tears and excitement and then we rushed to tell both our sets of parents and my nanny and auntie Kirsty. It wasn’t a reveal party but it was very us and we wouldn’t have had it any other way."

"We always wanted just a really intimate moment of finding out."

The Mirror reported that the TV presenter, who has also appeared on I'm A Celeb and Loose Women, said she could now show fans some of the items she had purchased ahead of the arrival of her son, and said she and Scott have chosen the wallpaper for the nursery. It was last month that Scarlett announced the news she was expecting, sharing a video of her pet Chihuahua Bonnie wearing a neck scarf with the words: "I'm going to be a big sister" on.

The clip then transformed into blue to signal she's having a boy (Instagram/Scarlett Moffatt)

The mum-to-be showed off her ultrasound image in the post, and captioned it: "It truly feels like a dream writing this caption. Me & Scott are on cloud nine & we are so happy that we get to share this moment with you all.

"You are so loved already little one. Baby Dobinson coming soon."
