The State Bank of India (SBI) is investigating a suspected data leak after personal information linked to 3,897 customers was identified during a preliminary examination of records found on the dark web. The disclosure has raised concerns about the safety of customer information and the possibility of financial fraud. SBI said it had examined nearly 3.75 lakh records available on the dark web and identified 3,897 customer records containing personally identifiable information. The exposed information reportedly includes names, mobile numbers, dates of birth, email addresses, residential addresses and details linked to loan applications.
