It's been a difficult start to the year with the ever rising cost of living and miserable weather. Many of you may already be dreaming of a quick getaway for a sunny break to recharge.
However, funds are scarce and any type of holiday will require a great deal of ingenuity and a good eye for cut-price deals. That is exactly what TikTok travel and football content creator Rob Adcock did when he found a hack to get himself from Manchester to Abu Dhabi spending just £69.

A short video on his TikTok account with 38.6K followers Rob details how he travelled from Manchester, to Italy and then eventually Abu Dhabi. In the video his journey starts at the Manchester Airport where he takes a £21 Ryanair flight to Rome.
While there, along with his mate Foxy, he does a bit of sight seeing before going to watch Lazio versus Cluj live at the Stadio Olimpico. The next flight he takes is from the Roma Fuimicino airport to Abu Dhabi which costs him just £48, something he says "can't quite get over".
During his travels free cake is being handed out to passengers as they wait for their Wizz Air flight and as a self professed 'glutton' Rob's sweet tooth get's the better of him and he has five helpings.
However, he is quick to mention that the plane has little no leg room and no entertainment but does concede that "you get what you pay for".
The video which has been watched by 163K people has been met with comments from many viewers sharing cheap tickets that they have found also. One viewer says: "Mine was £41 from Sophia to Abu Dhabi. Look at Madives they fly from Abu Dhabi from £80 Maldives on a budget."
Another added: "Flew with the first Wizz flight from Luton to Tallinn and no cake...I want a refund. I know the flight was £16.99 but I want my refund."
"How did you find flights to Rome for £21??? The only ones I can see are over £100," another user added.
Just as envious as Rob's followers, the MEN decided to take a look if we could get ourselves from Manchester to Abu Dhabi for the price of a PS5 game. The cheapest flight we could find for Manchester to Rome was a £38.99 one way ticket to the Fiumicino airport from EasyJet taking off next month.
We then found ourselves a Wizz Air flight from the same airport later that morning, which according to Skyscanner was doable timewise.
While recreating Rob's journey, the cheapest ticket we could find cost £105. While definitely not as cheap as Rob's tickets, it still worked out a whopping £343 less than the £448 you'd have to pay for a direct flight to Abu Dhabi from Manchester at that time.
