Peter Kay has said that he filmed his comeback tour announcement video on a budget and explained that it took just ten minutes for him to record with a friend.
The comedian, 49, announced his first live stand-up tour in more than a decade over the weekend, with the news having caught fans by surprise on Sunday evening.
The Better Late Than Never tour was unveiled through a TV advert which aired during I'm a Celebrity. It featured him delivering a carpet to his mum and telling a 'fan' - played by one of his friends - that he's going on tour next month.
Peter said that him and a friend filmed it on their phones in Bolton. His friend filmed the footage, while the comedian recorded his audio by having a phone in his pants.
He spoke about working on the advert whilst co-hosting The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 yesterday, teasing that it was filmed quickly and on a budget.
He explained: "He filmed it on his iPhone. It was my car and it was my mum's house. I put an iPhone down my shorts and put it on voice memo so I recorded my sound."
Peter added: " Tesco spent like £12 million on [an] advert, and we've done it in ten minutes on two iPhones. It were hilarious. Honestly, we were back home in 20 minutes."

He said that it cost more to do the graphics, though suggested that wasn't expensive either. Peter added that the carpet used in the video had been borrowed from a shop.
Peter also took credit for the tour being announced during I'm a Celebrity. He told radio host Zoe Ball, 51, that he felt airing it on the ITV show would "take people by surprise".
The Better Late Than Never tour - which is due to begin in just a few weeks - will see the comedian visit 12 cities over the coming months, including Manchester and Glasgow.
It will be his first live stand-up tour since around 2010, with him having been due to embark on a tour in 2017, which was ater cancelled due to "family circumstances".
And he is set to make history as it's been announced that he will embark on a monthly residency at the O2 Arena in London, performing at the venue each month for a year.
