One savvy mum has shared a creative hack that she has used to transform her sons cheap Primark sports gear into designer branded clothes without the price-tag.
Kat Burman revealed how she saves hundreds of pounds by printing on the iconic Nike logo and other brand names to transform the cheap clothing into 'perfect dupes.'
The 37-year-old thrifty mother explained that she didn't see the point in spending a fortune on designer branded gear that her son would use to play football in, reports WalesOnline. To help create the branded 'dupes' she purchased a Cricut machine for £300, which is a machine that lets you iron-on designs.
Kat explains that the DIY machine has allowed her to print on the infamous Nike tick to items such as her sons cheap £2.50 tops she purchased from Primark and his plain P.E bag.
Nike tops can range anywhere between £16 and a whopping £359.95 - meaning you could save some serious pennies by adopting the same DIY method.
The savvy mum also used the genius hack to alter a genuine Nike coat, covering over a pink logo - the only one in stock - with a white motif. She got the idea after using the kit to decorate facemasks, so started doing it on clothing this summer holiday.
Kat said: “There is no point splashing out on expensive branded goods when all my son cares about is playing football and running around his friends - his clothes don’t last long. Honestly, nobody can tell the difference and he loves them.
“The coat is actually Nike but they only had one with a pink tick left in stock, so I printed over the pink with white.”
The thrifty mother taught herself how to use the machine by using Youtube tutorials and explained that, as her son has ADHD, she is more particular when it comes to certain fabrics and tags on clothes.
