Savannah Guthrie tears up during emotional Today show return after her mother’s disappearance

  • Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today show anchor desk Monday, over two months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared.
  • Nancy Guthrie hasn’t been seen or heard from since January 31, when police believe she was taken from her Arizona home against her will.
  • “Well here we go, ready or not, let’s do the news,” Guthrie said on-air Monday morning. She wore a yellow dress, a subtle nod to the color that has become a symbol of hope and support for her family.
  • Colleagues and the audience showed their support, with many wearing yellow ribbons and holding signs to welcome her back.
  • Guthrie got teary after seeing the audience outside Studio 1A. “Some beautiful signs out there,” the anchor said, adding that she is “really feeling the love.”
