Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the Ukraine, energy, and problems in the Middle East. But the elephant in the room, the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, was not mentioned.

In an official readout of the meeting, the website of the Elysée said that Macron and MBS discussed the war in Ukraine and pledged to "intensify cooperation to mitigate its effects in Europe, the Middle East and the world."
