Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz ordered on Sunday the extension of the Citizen Account Program in its current mechanism, along with providing temporary additional support to its beneficiaries for four more months.
This decision was made at the recommendation of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Economic and Development Affairs Council, and is part of the government's ongoing efforts to support eligible families and shield them from the impact of global price hikes.
This latest directive is a continuation of a previous one by the King Salman, including the allocation of SR20 billion, with SR8 billion as additional financial support, for the beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program at the end of the fiscal year 2022.
Registration for the program was also re-opened based on the previously announced regulations. Furthermore, in January 2023, the King issued another directive to extend the additional support for the first quarter of the current fiscal year by three months.
