The General Directorate of Prisons started on Monday the implementation of pardon procedures for male and female public-right prisoners so that they can be released and returned to their families, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The move was carried out at the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The Acting Director General of Prisons said Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz has ordered the immediate implementation of the Royal Order and to finalize the measures of the pardon.
He stressed that King Salman's humanitarian gesture would have a profound impact on the pardoned after their release and return to their families.
