A recent Saudi study revealed that economic transformation programs and initiatives included in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 have generated prospects for more than 3 million future jobs.
Abdulaziz Al-Awwad, Vice-Chairman of the Human Resources Committee at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh, stated that the study carried out by Chamber indicated that the Saudi Vision 2030 programs will generate more than 3 million future jobs.
More than half the jobs will be listed in the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, affirmed Al-Awwad.
Speaking during a Monday virtual panel discussion organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Al-Awwad explained that remaining jobs will be distributed among the five programs of Vision 2030.
According to Al-Awwad, the Chamber’s study gave seven recommendations that are needed by the private sector from relevant government agencies and public institutions in the field of training and education. This is to prepare Saudis to take over future jobs.
The requirements suggested by the study include focusing education and training on creativity, analysis and innovation skills, qualifying educational and training cadres in the initial stages and providing them with the sciences and skills they need that make them able to adapt to the requirements of the future labor market.
Al-Awwad indicated that the most prominent future jobs, according to the aspirations of Vision 2030, are positions in data analysis and big data, computer and AI, robot engineering, smart software and application development, nanotechnology, and cybersecurity.
During his panel discussion speech, Al-Awwad indicated that the share of the Riyadh region in employment during the second quarter of 2022 reached 43%.
He called on concerned authorities to distribute their projects and businesses in all Saudi administrative regions.
This is to allow human resources in different regions access to job opportunities as well as benefit from competitive features of each area.
