Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz confirmed that Saudi Arabia and South Korea are seeking to intensify joint action to confront threats that undermine international peace and affect energy security and the safety of supply chains.
The Crown Prince was speaking during his meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, at the presidential headquarters in Seoul.
The Saudi-South Korea ties witnessed great development over the past six decades, resulting in a fruitful strategic partnership for the two countries, asserted the Crown Prince.
Prince Mohammed praised the positive growth in the past years through the trade exchange rates, expressing his keenness to increase coordination to reach ambitious economic aspirations and build a better future for the region and the whole world.
The Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, wishing progress for the South Korean government.
The visit marks 60 years since the establishment of the bilateral relations between the two countries, which affirms the desire to consolidate the foundations of the historical relationship and supports efforts to boost cooperation in all fields, said the Crown Prince.
He asserted that Saudi Arabia has always been keen to intensify consultation and coordination with South Korea to achieve ambitious economic aspirations and build a better future for the region and the world.
“We also follow with great interest the achievements of the joint committees between our two countries, and we look forward to raising the pace of investment coordination and strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors,” reiterated the Crown Prince.
Prince Mohammed stressed the importance of benefiting from the promising commercial and investment opportunities available for cooperation between the two countries, and in this context, he commended the positive growth of the rates of trade exchange between the Kingdom and South Korea.
For his part, the Korean President affirmed his keenness to take bilateral relations to a new level, indicating that Saudi Arabia is proud of a new future through the implementation of Vision 2030 under the leadership of the Crown Prince.
He asserted that his country is looking forward to expanding and developing bilateral cooperation and investment in new growth and mega projects such as NEOM, defense industries, and future energy such as hydrogen, culture, and tourism.
Suk-Yeol expressed his aspiration to continue close communication with King Salman and the Crown Prince for cooperation in developing bilateral relations.
The official talks reviewed aspects of Saudi-Korean relations in various fields, especially in the economic, investment, and trade aspects, in addition to discussing developments in the situation and several issues of common interest.
Later, the Crown Prince met at his residence in Seoul, a group of heads of Korean companies, and discussed promising investment opportunities in the Kingdom in various sectors, especially energy, technology, industry, construction, and smart cities.
The Crown Prince sent a cable of thanks to the South Korean President upon his departure from Seoul.
“It gives me great pleasure to express to Your Excellency my deep gratitude and appreciation for the good reception and generous hospitality accorded to me and the accompanying delegation,” read the cable.
Prince Mohammed added: “The discussions we held confirmed the strength of the relations between the two countries and the common desire to enhance cooperation in all fields within the framework of the Saudi-Korean Vision 2030 and in a way that serves the interest of the two friendly peoples.”
