Saudi airport attacked again as death toll from Houthi strikes reaches 14

  • One person was killed in a fresh attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Sunday, following a strike the previous day that left 13 dead.
  • Yemen 's Iran -aligned Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the strikes, which have wounded more than 300 people and forced the airport to close.
  • Aviation analytics firm Cirium estimates that approximately 60 per cent of scheduled flights at the Riyadh airport will be cancelled on Monday.
  • The rapid escalation risks greater US military involvement, with President Donald Trump weighing whether to join the fight against the Houthis.
  • Saudi energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman described the recent events as serious, warning that the kingdom's response must be equally serious.
