SAS Rogue Heroes season two begins with the statement that it is “Based on a true story… but be aware… this is NOT a history lesson.”
Indeed the show does – exuberantly – play fast and loose with the facts of the SAS’s real role in the invasion of mainland Europe in spring 1943 (following season one’s look at the creation of the SAS and first campaigns behind Nazi lines in North Africa).
