Sarina Wiegman names uncapped 17-year-old in Lionesses squad for World Cup qualifiers

  • Sarina Wiegman has announced her England squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers in April.
  • Seventeen-year-old midfielder Erica Meg Parkinson, who plays for Portuguese first division side Valadares Gaia, has received her first senior call-up, having previously played for the Lionesses' pathway teams.
  • Beth Mead and Alex Greenwood return to the squad after recovering from injuries, while Freya Godfrey is also included.
  • Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton and Ella Toone are absent from the squad due to injury.
  • The Lionesses will face world champions Spain at Wembley on 14 April, followed by an away match against Iceland four days later.
