Sarah Jessica Parker has opened up about why she never stripped off while filming Sex and the City, insisting it wasn't "a morality thing".
The 58-year-old actress starred as Carrie Bradshaw in the hit HBO show, which followed a group of New York women as they navigated their ever-changing sex lives.
Unlike her co-stars - Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis - Sarah Jessica refused to film nude and has now admitted she was "too shy" to do scenes with no clothes on.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, she explained: "I think I just never felt comfortable exposing myself that way.
"I never had any judgements about anybody else doing it."
The Hocus Pocus star admitted she was hesitant to join the cast of Sex and the City due to fears of having to strip down to film sex scenes.
"The only thing I was concerned about was that I just didn't feel comfortable doing nudity. I suspected that if it wasn't in the pilot, it would be a part of a series," she told Howard.
After telling show creator Darren Star about her reluctance, Sarah Jessica said she was positively surprised by his reaction.
She explained: "He said, 'We'll have other actors. If they feel comfortable doing it, they’ll do it, but you do not have to'."
SJP's co-star Cynthia Nixon recently said she was "fairly game" when it came to filming nude.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: "I feel like I was always fairly game for it. It's just one of the main subjects of the show is sex.
"People having sex and people having great sex and people having terrible sex and people having hilarious sex."
Kim Cattrall also joked how she had "filled her quota" for onscreen nudity and said she was no longer interested in it.
