Sarah Jessica Parker has shared the 'best pieces of design' from small businesses on Etsy, and, of course, New York's most fashionable figure has impeccable taste.
The actress may be best associated with her fictional counterpart Carrie Bradshaw, known for her unrivaled collection of designer labels, but the actress's reality is notably more concerned with small businesses. Sarah is an avid champion of small brands and has admitted that she 'searches for hours' to discover unique artwork, jewelry, and lighting online.
'It was an honor to serve as a judge for this year's Etsy Design Awards alongside Dayna Isom Johnson. Those who know me know that I'm an avid Etsy browser and shopper,' Sarah says via Instagram. 'The creativity of Etsy sellers always blows me away, and this year's finalists were no exception.'
A vegan cactus leather bag by Venezuelan designer Maria Gabriela Duque was this year's Grand Prize Etsy Design Award Winner, but other favorites include an intricate artwork that celebrates Black women and a tilted lamp that reimagines the traditional lamp switch. We're adding them to our basket before they inevitably sell out.

Dorcas Magbadelo is a largely self-taught artist who takes inspiration from her Nigerian heritage to create artwork, including the Ifeoluwa illustration that won the art category. This piece, like much of her work, uses bold colors and patterns to encourage Black women to take up space in their everyday lives and celebrate womanhood and joy.
'I'm heavily inspired by fashion, and this illustration was inspired by vintage fashion editorials, so having my piece chosen by a style icon such as Sarah Jessica Parker feels incredible,' Dorcas shares with H&G. 'It felt great even to be shortlisted as a finalist, especially amongst so many talented makers – so to win feels absolutely amazing.'
Inspired by Black hair that resembles a crown, this striking artwork boasts a regal quality that will add instant vibrancy to any room. We recommend pairing it with subtle neutral paint to allow the hues to make an unrivaled statement in your space.

Ed Heritage is a lighting designer dedicated to bringing ideas to life through functional and joyful products. His winning piece, the Tilt Lamp, is among his most innovative to date, reimagining the conventional lamp switch. His work is characterized by its use of simple geometry to form playful objects that aim to make even the most mundane aspects of life a little more enjoyable.
'Sarah Jessica Parker is an inspirational figure in the creative world, so to have my work recognized and praised by her is a huge honor and one I am grateful for,' he says.
This lamp is inspired by the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which emphasizes finding meaning in everyday moments. When tilted in one direction, the lamp turns on, and when tilted in the opposite direction, it gracefully switches off – adding a hint of Ikigai to its users' lives.

Justin Duance embarked on his journey in the world of jewelry after graduating in 2000. In the years that followed, what began as a one-person shop evolved into a team of artisans hand-crafting their exquisite pieces from a workshop nestled in the Cornish woods in the UK.
'We were genuinely quite surprised that Sarah Jessica Parker chose our signet ring,' Justin says.'We're a small jewelry maker by the sea in Cornwall, a world away from Hollywood stars – The whole team feels really proud. It's just great. It'd be nice to thank her personally.'
