Sarah Ferguson has reportedly been offered a seven-figure deal for a new autobiography detailing the various controversies surrounding herself and her former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The 66-year-old is “days away” from signing the deal with a US publishing house, with subjects tipped to include Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles III, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
A source told The Sun that she wants to clear her name over ties to the disgraced financier.
She is reportedly “on a mission” to rescue her reputation.
One source said: “Sarah wants to set the record straight about everything and earn some money to resolve her financial issues. There has been a secret bidding war and a deal is close to being secured.
“The notes are compelling and the bidders are excited. Fergie is ever the optimist and believes she can be forgiven and welcomed back.”
Fergie was stripped of her Duchess of York title last October by King Charles amid worsening Epstein allegations, and she left the UK.
Several charities severed ties with Ms Ferguson after details of her continued relationship with late paedophile financier became public on the release of the Epstein files.
It comes just days after Earl Spencer released his scathing memoir Swan Song, about his late sister Diana.
Spencer said he felt it was his “duty… as an eyewitness to history” to write a new memoir chronicling the life of his sister.
The memoir contains a string of explosive claims about King Charles, including allegations that the King said “we’ll forget her soon enough” following the death of Diana.
He also accused Charles of “going ballistic” in a row over whether the then Prince William and Prince Harry should follow Diana’s funeral cortege.
Spencer said he felt it was his “duty… as an eyewitness to history” to write a new memoir detailing the life of his late sister, though some critics have questioned their closeness as siblings in the final years of Diana’s life.
In response to the claims made, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said on Wednesday, September 23: “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss.”
