Sarah Beeny 'staying positive' after cancer diagnosis as she's supported by celeb pals

Sarah Beeny has shared moving messages of support following her cancer diagnosis.

The property expert has received notes from several celebrity pals after being diagnosed with breast cancer three weeks ago.

She has already undergone her first chemotherapy appointment, and the 50-year-old has taken to Twitter to thank well-wishers.

“There isn't a chance it won't all be OK,” she responded to one fan who sent her an uplifting message on social media – saying it made her feel “empowered”.

She said: “Thanks for your lovely message - with so many lovely messages there isn't a chance it won't all be ok!! Xxxxx.”

Replying to a message from Brain Tumour Research, she said: “Thanks so much - feel so empowered by so much support - you are fab xxxx”

Comedian Janey Godley Tweeted Sarah: “Sending you so much strength and love.” And Julian Clary said: “Sending you my best wishes and strength.”

Actor Shaun Dooley said: “So sorry mate to see what you're going through. Keep strong Sarah, keep fighting and kick its arse!! Thinking of you and your family.”

TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher added: “So much love sarah.”

Victoria Derbyshire, who was herself diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, said: “Hi Sarah I just wanted to send loads and loads of love and strength to you and all your boys/men.”

Sarah shares sons Billy, 18, Charlie, 16, Rafferty, 14, and Laurie, 12, with her husband of 19 years Graham Swift.

It comes after Sarah revealed the emotional conversation she had with her four children in which she told them about her breast cancer diagnosis.

The property expert lost her own mum, Ann, to the disease 40 years ago when she was just ten-years old and naturally broke down after learning she had it too - something she felt was always inevitable.

After being told by her nurse of the diagnosis, Sarah said she 'knew she was going to hear those words one day'.

The star went on to reveal that she decided to be candid about telling her kids - in stark contrast to her own childhood in which she wasn't told about her mum's condition.

Sarah told the Telegraph : "My eldest came in and I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. He said 'Are you all right? You haven't got cancer or something, have you?'

"I said, 'Um, I have, actually'. He said, 'Sorry?' I said, 'Yeah, I have'.

"Then the others came in, we had a little chat and it was kind of fine. They just said, 'You will be honest?, and I said, 'I promise you that I'm going to be around for a jolly long time yet'."

Sarah has since announced she is fighting the disease through a course of chemotherapy, which she started last week and will also start a course of radiotherapy in the new year.
