Sarah Beeny revealed she "lived in fear for such a long time" as she discussed her battle with breast cancer.
The 51-year-old TV presenter was diagnosed with breast cancer in August last year.
Last month, the property expert shared the happy news that she was given the all-clear for the disease.
Sarah appeared on The One Show on Monday to discuss the new Channel 4 documentary, Sarah Beeny v Cancer, which she's been working on that follows her cancer journey.
Speaking to the hosts, she said she "always feared" getting breast cancer as her mother died from the same disease when she was a child.
"When I got to 39, which is the age she died, I thought ‘Here we are.’ And then I got to 40 and thought, that’s weird!” she said. “And then I got to 50 and got the diagnosis," she said.
Sarah continued: "I’ve lived with this fear for such a long time. But once I realised how the treatment works, it’s not nearly as bad as the fear."
The star also admitted she "feared death" during her tough battle with the disease.
After being diagnosed with cancer, she underwent a double mastectomy.
She decided to embrace her hair loss, cutting off some of her hair prior to the treatment she was having.
The presenter has been open about her battle and took to social media to share regular photos of her treatments.
Sarah, who has four children, was also heavily praised by fans for showing the reality of cancer, by snapping a candid photo of herself 'drawing' her eyebrows on as she brings the focus to living with cancer.
In April, the star revealed she was given the all-clear but admitted it was a "weird" feeling to understand.
Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV's Lorraine, she said: "It's good but it's weird, the doctors sort of kind of go 'oh right that's it then, that's the end of that' and you're like, 'how do you know?' Then they go, we don't but we think so.
"It's an ongoing thing. I have to take drugs for years and be very vigilant. It's been a kind of weird ride."
