Duncan Taylor has been hit with a suspension but can be back in time to feature in Saracens’ Premiership semi-final.
The Scotland centre was sent off in Saturday’s 38-29 defeat at Northampton, for a head-on-head collision in attempting to tackle Saints fly-half Fin Smith.
Taylor has been handed a three-week ban, which will crucially be reduced to two matches should he complete World Rugby’s tackle school initiative.
The 33-year-old will miss Sunday’s Premiership clash with London Irish at StoneX Stadium and the trip to Bath on May 6.
Taylor will be available for Saracens’ home play-off semi-final on May 13 however, should he undergo the World Rugby tackle course.
Taylor’s potential availability for the play-offs will prove a boost to Saracens, with the fit-again centre adding stability and nous in midfield.
“The panel have imposed a three-week suspension, subject to successful completion of the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP),” said independent disciplinary panel chair Matthew O’Grady.
“Should the player successfully complete the World Rugby Coaching Intervention, he will be available to play after the Bath game on May 6, and he will be available for the Premiership semi-final on May 13.”
