Sara Davies' Craft Your Christmas coming to Newcastle as Strictly star promise festive hacks galore

No stranger to a sequin from her time on Strictly Come Dancing, Sara Davies will be bringing plenty of sparkle to Newcastle next month, when she arrives in town with her Craft Your Christmas tour. And the Dragon's Den star is promising festive hacks galore, including tips and trick for even the worst of present wrappers.

It's now been 12 months since proud County Durham lass Sara lit up the ballroom on Strictly, alongside pro partner Aljaz Škorjanec, on what turned out to be the dancer's last year on the show. After making it far on the BBC programme, Sara and Aljaz then teamed up on the Strictly arena tour, winning the first night of its stint in Newcastle.

And now Sara is preparing to take to a different stage in Tyneside, with a very different show, which sees her embrace her number one passion - crafting. While Sara's public profile has sky rocketed, thanks to her appearances on Dragon's Den and Strictly, before TV fame, she was already a successful entrepreneur as founder of Crafters Companion.

Craft Your Christmas arrives at the Tyne Theatre on Friday, December 2, with Sara ready to share her crafting knowledge, as well as promising a night of festive fun for anyone who gets a ticket. Speaking to ChronicleLive about the show, Sara said: "For most people, when it comes to crafting, the problem is not knowing how to get started.

"But, don't worry as all you need to be is creative and you're good to go. For me, there's nothing better than handmade things; whether it be cards or decorations. I want people to have that moment where people walk in their house and say 'oh those baubles are amazing' and they can tell them they made them.

"Then there's this Christmas table. Let' be honest, we all want ours to look like the one on the front of Good Housekeeping and the truth is that it doesn't need to be expensive. The best thing about Crafting Christmas is that I'll be making the things in real time. I want everyone to have a fun night- get a few drinks down you in the interval and come away feeling inspired."

And, then for anyone out there whose wrapping skills leave a lot to be desired, Sara vows to be your guardian angel this Christmas, saying: "I have all the tricks cheats. I've got your back!"
