Sara Davies admits to 'resenting' her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars

Sara Davies has admitted that she "resented" some of her co-stars on Strictly Come Dancing whilst they were competing each other on the popular BBC show last year.

The entrepreneur, 38, was partnered with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec, 32, in the competition, with the pair managing to make it through to the ninth week.

The Dragons Den investor has now opened up about having felt resentment towards some of the other celebrities on the show, who were able to commit more to training.

Responsible for a multi-million pound business, Sara was forced to juggle the demands of her craft supply company, Crafter's Companion, with practicing for the routines.

Sara discussed balancing both projects with the Daily Star recently, with her admitting that she wished she had been able to completely focus on the competition itself.

The mother-of-two said she even resented that some of the other celebrities on the show last year were able to put their lives on hold to train as much as possible for dances.

Discussing how she had felt, she said: "I did used to look at some of the other celebrities and resent a little bit that they were able to just put the rest of their lives on hold."

She said some of the celebrities were able to move to London for the experience and "trains loads and loads of hours every day," which wasn't something she was able to do.

Sara explained that she often struggled to fit in the hours to perfect her routines for the show, with her last week in the competition proving particularly difficult for her.

She recalled having only had around "eight hours sleep for the whole week" because of her schedule, which included hours of training with Aljaž and work for her business.

The outlet reports that Sara revealed in her new book, We Can All Make It, that her business profits plummeted by "hundreds of thousands" while she was on Strictly.

She is said to have written in the book: "The cost to the business of me being essentially 'missing in action' for several months was in the hundreds of thousands."

Sara founded Crafter's Companion in 2005, whilst a student at the University of York. It's now said to export to around 40 countries worldwide and has a turnover in the millions.
