Saoirse Ruane's family have confirmed she is responding well to her latest cancer treatment.
Saoirse became a public figure in late 2020 through an appearance on The Late Late Toy Show. The now 11-year-old inspired audiences with her resilient approach to life, having previously battled osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.
Saoirse and her family were dealt a huge blow in April after learning her cancer had returned through a new tumour. However, Saoirse's mother reassured followers that her daughter was responding positively to treatment.
Roseanna wrote on Instagram: "A lot of you are asking for an update on Saoirse. She is continuing treatment at home and is tolerating it well which is all we could hope for."

She described her daughter as "the kindest soul" who often apologises for her condition. Roseanna admitted that Saoirse has "up and down" days amid her health battle but remains positive.
The young girl received huge public support after news of her health setback emerged. Saoirse was sent countless supportive letters after Ryan Tubridy issued an appeal on his radio show.
